I got this notice yesterday- The Houzz community voted Arcadia Gardens, LLC "Best of 2012". I'll have to admit, I kind of sat on the news...not really sure what to make of it. It's completely a popularity contest, which is a good thing, right?! We have a number of photos on their site, under our profile, and apparently they give the awards based on the number of times a photo is added to a user's Ideabook (the photo that won it for us, is incidently the same one I use in our header above). Houzz really is a pretty cool site, as far as the quality of workmanship and the plethora design ideas available. The Ideabook concept is really neat as well. Alright, I'll brag about it: I feel better already!
I spend a lot of time at my desk. A LOT. Most of the time I'm working on proposals, invoices, payroll, accounting, etc. You know, the boring responsible stuff that keeps a company afloat.
When I'm not working, I have a tendency to stare out my windows at all that nature out there. And I wonder about it. When do the hummingbirds come back? What do cardinal nests look like? Was that really a badger?! What is that poor robin eating? Then I remember- I have Google!-and I wonder no more. This morning I found an amazing resource for the nature lover in you: Journey North: Migration Maps This is a place to record and track just where those robins, hummingbirds, earthworms, whooping cranes are hanging out. There's even a map for Maple Sap flow and Ice Out! |
