The big home tour is a little less than two weeks away. We've been making good progress, in the little bits than we can working between contractors. Every time I show up, the renovation has expanded... Yikes! The focus of this redesign was simplifying the landscape, picking up the clean lines of the house and creating an overall cohesive Asian theme for the beds around the house. Rocks have been rearranged, the original yew and juniper plantings were preserved, and the lawn was expanded. Problem plantings of English Ivy and mixed perennials were removed. A beautiful stone mulch called Sunrise Blend was used in the main beds. I promise better photos are on their way, I've been snapping these with my phone as the work progresses. Coming up is a small viewing patio on the back bluff, a perfect spot to enjoy the architecture of the home and the beautiful St. Joseph River down below.
