Our daughter's wedding was wonderful in every sense of the word. Families were joined, new friendships were formed, old friendships rekindled- lots of laughs, smiles, hugs and even some tears....of joy of course! The weather couldn't have been better, given it WAS an outside wedding...in August...in Michigan. A long HOT, DRY summer broke in the days leading up to the ceremony, leaving us scrambling for umbrellas and jackets to stave off the cold rain and unseasonable cool temperatures, and causing my dear daughter to mutter..."If one more person asks about the weather....grrrrr". BUT, after much appealing to the powers that be, the rain stopped, the clouds cleared, and we were able to enjoy one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever attended. Not that I'm biased, by any means. Enough about the weather, you say....show us the photos! First off a story... See that faint watermark in the corner? That's the website of an incredible local photographer, Ben Pancoast. Yes, this time I am totally biased, because during those formative years of youth, the college age, Ben worked for us. That's right- he even built that arbor my lovely daughter and her handsome husband are standing under. He helped plant those flowers and trees and lay that flagstone for a wedding a long, long time ago- Todd & mine! So can we claim any responsibility for the path he chose? Maybe- I did encourage him to take that photography class elective after all.... Here are some more breathtaking shots: Thank you, Ben, for not becoming a landscaper!
Please check out his website: www.benpancoast.com if you get a chance. Even if you're not looking for a wedding photographer, his family portraits and landscapes are amazing, and he's a marvelous storyteller. |
